NFI Parts™ has received an order from Champion Coach for UV light kits to be installed on their MCI motor coaches.

Louisville, Kentucky, USA – June 24, 2020: (TSX: NFI) NFI Parts™, the parts subsidiary of NFI Group Inc. (“NFI”), one of the world’s leading independent bus manufacturers, has received an order from Champion Coach for UV Light Kits to be installed on their MCI motor coaches.

UVC lights have been used to sanitize hospitals, operating rooms, doctors’ offices, medical equipment, residential spaces, etc. for many years. The UV Lighting system from NFI Parts mounts inside the motor coach ductwork and sanitizes air with UV light without compromising rider or passenger safety. The system works to reduce bacteria, viruses and mold in the HVAC system; creating a safer and more comfortable experience for passengers while producing no pollution.

“NFI Parts appreciates any opportunity to work directly with operators to find solutions that best suit their needs”, said Brian Dewsnup, President NFI Parts. “Champion Coach was interested in new technology that would benefit their fleet in the long term and we agreed that the UVC installation would accomplish this. Our Clean and Protect line was established in response to COVID-19, however many of the products in this part of our catalogue will continue to bring positive impact to riders beyond the pandemic.”

Champion Coach was founded in 1998 and is based in Greenville, South Carolina. Its fleet of distinctive motor coaches carries professional sports franchises, elite college teams, corporate, school, church and family groups wherever they need to go. Champion Coach frequently provides team travel, group travel and corporate travel services to Atlanta, Charlotte, Charleston, Columbia, Raleigh, Jacksonville, Miami and other popular destinations in the Southeast.

“This is an investment in overall safety and comfort for our customers and drivers,” said Craig Dance, Chief Executive Officer of Champion Coach. “Our goal at Champion Coach is to be at the forefront when it comes to implementing new technologies to motor coach fleets. We look forward to continued collaboration with NFI Parts as we outfit our vehicles with the most advanced features.”

The UV lighting system is durable and easy to install. For more details on these kits or other offerings in the NFI Parts Clean and Protect line, please visit: http://nfi.parts/cleanandprotect/

NFI Parts recently published a safety guide which addresses four principles of safety for buses and motor coaches: Distancing, Disinfecting, Air Quality, and PPE, with the first three principles being called out as the primary areas for operators to invest in. UV light are a relatively low-cost, chemical-free, convenient option to sanitize the air in a vehicle. While vehicles may never reach ‘clean room’ status, they can be made safer through air sanitization and filtration. To view the full guide, visit: http://nfi.parts/cleanandprotect/

The strong partnership between NFI Parts and its supply network has resulted in inventory on these high demand items to be available for purchase. Due to the popularity of the Clean and Protect products, customers are encouraged to reach out to their NFI Parts customer service representative as quickly as possible to minimize lead times.
