May 4, 2021 Choosing the Right Cleaning Service for Your Workplace

Considerations for a cleaning service when searching for the right level of service for your company.

Whether you work in a small office and you need a cleaner for a few hours per week, or you are based in a large multi-national company and tasked with hiring several full-time janitors, there are some things you need to consider when searching for the right level of service for your company.

Hours

Before you start, you should think about when you want your workspace cleaned. It may be less intrusive to hire a cleaning company who can work out of hours but you will have to trust them enough to give them a key. Hiring a couple of cleaners rather than one means that they can get the job done in half the time, which could interfere with your staff less.

Experience

Experience is a must, especially right now. Hygiene in a world of coronavirus is more important than it has ever been before, and you need to make sure that your cleaning service providers are up to the job. Don’t be afraid to ask them if they have a lot of experience keeping workplaces covid clean rather than just concentrating on a basic level of service. Basic may have been good enough in the past but no company wants to lose staff due to sickness, or worse, because their facility was not kept clean enough.

Size of the Cleaning Company

The size of the cleaning company you are going to use can make a great deal of difference. One size does not necessarily fit all and there are pros and cons to any size of cleaning company. For example, if you hire an individual cleaner, you can be sure of a personal level of service from someone who can get to know the staff well. This could be fantastic if you have a small company yourself and there is a small space to be cleaned. However, what do you do if the cleaner is off sick, or you find that they are not up to the job?  A larger cleaning company is more likely to have another cleaner they can provide for you in these instances, whereas if you have hired an individual, you may have to find someone else yourself.

Cost

Cost is not necessarily the most important factor when it comes to hiring a cleaning service. You often get what you pay for so the cheapest may not always be the best. Ask for references and recommendations and call the contacts they give you to check their work. If they have satisfied customers, it may be worth paying a little extra.

You could always negotiate to get the price reduced. If you have a big workspace, it can often be worthwhile for a cleaning company to let you do this. Another option is to provide your own cleaning products. Use a company such as OfficeCrave.com for your supplies and pay a cleaning service for their cleaning time only. This could reduce your costs immensely.

Use these tips to find your perfect workplace cleaning provider and enjoy a dust-free working life.
