Badger Color transitions to PFAS-free raw materials, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and product safety in manufacturing.

Mukwonago, Wisconsin—Badger Color, a leader in masterbatch manufacturing, is proud to announce a significant milestone in its commitment to environmental responsibility and product safety. Both of the company’s manufacturing facilities have successfully transitioned to using PFAS‐free raw materials.

Per‐ and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) are a group of persistent synthetic chemicals in the environment and can adversely affect human health. By eliminating PFAS‐containing raw materials from our manufacturing processes, Badger Color proactively minimizes environmental impact and prioritizes the health and well‐being of its employees, customers, and communities.

“Our decision to go PFAS‐free in raw material sourcing underscores our dedication to sustainability and product safety,” said John Grabski, Director of Production and Technology of Badger Color Concentrates. “We have worked closely with our suppliers to ensure that all raw materials used in our masterbatch and liquid formulations are free from PFAS compounds.”

This important transition aligns with Badger Color’s core values and commitment to corporate responsibility. By prioritizing PFAS‐free raw material use, the company is reducing potential risks to human health and the environment, setting a new standard for excellence in the Color masterbatch and liquid concentrate industry.

“Our deliberate transition to utilizing PFAS‐free raw materials represents a critical advancement in our ongoing commitment to sustainable practices,” stated Thomas Bernhardt, General Manager of Badger Color. “This strategic shift underscores our unwavering dedication to environmental stewardship and exemplifies our proactive approach to mitigating the impacts of our manufacturing processes.”

As part of its ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability, Badger Color will continue to invest in research and development. The company aims to identify alternative materials and processes that further enhance the sustainability and safety of its products.

Badger Color extends its gratitude to its customers, partners, and community for their continued support as the company leads the way in sustainable masterbatch and liquid concentrate manufacturing.
