Indoor Air Purifiers contribute to safe, healthy housing for families.
Fellowes, a global leader and trusted partner that provides product solutions to fulfill a broad range of WorkLife needs, is donating over 5,300 air purifiers, valued at more than $1.1 million, to Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity to aid Habitat affiliates in providing quality affordable homes that promote the well-being and health of families.
“Our vision is to create a world where everyone has a decent place to live, and Habitat affiliates across Chicagoland have been building and selling homes with affordable mortgages, and repairing homes, for over 30 years,” says Sarah Brachle Wagner, Chief Executive Officer of Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity. “Studies have shown that homeownership leads to improved health, physical safety, and security, and to better education and job prospects for families. The generous donation of air purifiers by Fellowes for Habitat for Humanity ReStores– which, in turn, directly funds building more homes in the region – plays a crucial role in further enhancing their well-being.”
“Amidst the ongoing cold and flu season, we recognize that not everyone has the resources to purchase air purifiers for their home,” emphasized Arti Lyde, Global General Manager of Air Quality Management at Fellowes. “Through this donation, our mission is to champion indoor air quality as a fundamental right and opportunity for everyone. Our goal is to contribute to preventing illnesses, not only in the current cold and flu season, but also ensuring the long-term health and quality of life for family members of all ages.”
The donation represents the latest milestone in a decade-long partnership between Fellowes and Habitat for Humanity in the Chicagoland area. This partnership is a key component of the Fellowes GIVE program, which forges local and global collaborations to address humanity’s most pressing needs in four areas: Social Services, World Aid and Development, Education, and Medical Research. Other past Fellowes GIVE projects include a clean water initiative in Mozambique and a vocational school project in Nicaragua.
“At Fellowes we’re focused on educating others on the importance of clean air, and we’re proud to partner with an organization that not only understands this but also advocates the universal right for everyone to breathe clean air,” said Fellowes CEO John Fellowes.
Indoor air quality is crucial: 90% of our breathing occurs indoors. The ultra-quiet Fellowes AeraMax® air purifiers remove 99.97% of airborne contaminants, while the AeraSmart™ sensor adjusts fan speed to minimize noise and energy costs. For added peace of mind for families, Fellowes Air Purifiers proven to remove 99.99%* of SARS-CoV-2.1
