TA Services' Dani Etkin-Spigelman Named Winner - Industry Today - Leader in Manufacturing & Industry News

September 20, 2023 TA Services’ Dani Etkin-Spigelman Named Winner

The award honors female supply chain leaders and executives whose accomplishments, mentorship and examples set a foundation for all women.

MANSFIELD, TEXAS — TA Services, a premier full-service third-party logistics provider, is proud to announce Dani Etkin-Spigelman a winner of the 2023 Women in the Supply Chain award presented by Food Logistics, the only publication exclusively dedicated to covering the movement of product through the global cold food supply chain, and Supply & Demand Chain Executive, the only publication covering the entire global supply chain. Etkin-Spigelman is one of three TA Services female leaders to be honored this year.

Etkin-Spigelman, Chief Revenue Officer of TA Services’ Toronto, Ontario Canada office, has quickly risen through the ranks of the cold chain logistics world. In her current role, Etkin-Spigelman has proven to be a strategic, relationship-driven leader.

“This year, we received over 400 submissions, the highest amount of applications not only for this award, but also for all of our awards. What’s more, 118 of those applications were submitted by male counterparts, nominating their boss, co-worker or associate.

Last year, that figure was just at 75. Also this year, 39 women self-nominated, a tremendous uptick from last year’s award, which just saw 12 self-nominations. This shows progress. This shows hope that one day, we won’t need an award like this because men and women in the supply chain will be equal,” says Marina Mayer,

Editor-in-Chief of Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “While there’s still more work to be done, what we’re doing is working. From truck drivers to CEOs, what these winners are doing matters to the future of all supply chains.”

Etkin-Spigelman excels in the global produce space. Not only does she oversee the transportation of a large variety of produce products from Mexico, Etkin-Spigelman also deals extensively with the port of Los Angeles where produce arrives from suppliers worldwide to be transported via freight throughout North America.

During a time when labor shortages have been plaguing nearly every industry, especially those that rely on truck drivers, Etkin-Spigelman has added several trusted, reliable carrier partners to TA’s cold chain network. She has also successfully recruited, trained, and retained top-notch logistics talent. From hiring for new roles and signing on new drivers to ensuring customer satisfaction through honesty and open communication, Etkin-Spigelman is always promoting workforce development through her initiatives.

Upon receiving the award Etkin-Spigelman said, “It’s great to be recognized as a woman in the supply chain. I believe that it is important to bring more women into the logistics industry and help them move up the corporate ladder of the industry as well. I want to inspire younger women to be part of something that has been traditionally male dominated.”

“Women have been making a significant impact in supply chain management, contributing to the growth and innovation of the supply chain industry. As more women join the supply chain workforce, they bring diverse perspectives that can help address complex supply chain problems and improve global supply chain operations. It is important that we empower, recognize and elevate these achievements through initiatives like the Women in Supply Chain Award, as seen through the overwhelming response. Congratulations to all the winners, those who nominated others and the bravery of those who nominated themselves,” adds Sarah Barnes-Humphrey, founder of Let’s Talk Supply Chain podcast and Blended Pledge project, both exclusive sponsors of the Women in Supply Chain award.

Etkin-Spigelman truly believes that honesty is the best policy, especially when it comes to her communications and relationships with her employees, customers, and carriers. She anticipates potential challenges that could arise and affect the status of a shipment, addresses those challenges with strategic solutions, and relays the information in a timely fashion to all that will be affected. She has found that both this open and truthful communication as well as her commitment to maintaining personal relationships with her customers and carries is what sets her and TA’s produce team apart from others.
