CHARLOTTE, NC – Trafag AG., a leading manufacturer of high-accuracy measurement devices, is proud to announce the release of its 8271 CMP Pressure Transmitter. This miniature pressure transmitter is engineered for reliability and precision across a wide range of industries, including test and measurement, commercial equipment/appliances, hydraulics, and processing.

The 8271 CMP Pressure Transmitter features a small and rugged construction, making it suitable for harsh environments and demanding applications. For applications requiring enhanced durability, an optional 5-fold overpressure resistance provides robust protection against pressure spikes. The thin-film-on-steel measuring principle delivers high accuracy and excellent long-term stability in pressure measurements. Accuracy is ensured with ±0.5% FS typ. or ±0.3% FS typ. @ 25℃, providing precise pressure readings for critical applications.

The 8271 CMP Pressure Transmitter comes with an M12x1 electrical connection, ensuring reliable and standardized electrical interfacing. The inclusion of LSS (DS 305 V2.0) allows for flexible network configuration and management. Its CANopen bus protocol DS301/DS404, which supports CAN 2.0A/B, ensures compatibility with a wide range of industrial communication systems. The CANopen output signal also facilitates easy integration into CANopen-based control systems. Furthermore, the transmitter is CiA conformance tested, ensuring compatibility and compliance with CANopen standards.

The transmitter’s wide range of pressure connections allows for versatile installation options in various systems, and its broad operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C ensures suitability for use in extreme temperature environments. The compact design of the 8271 further enhances its adaptability, as it allows easy integration into space-constrained applications.

With harsh environments in demanding applications in mind, the miniature pressure transmitter CMP 8271 is designed with a wide range of options making it the preferred choice for cost-effective OEM solutions. It has a measuring range of 0…1 to 0…250 bar. With a high protection rating of minimum IP67, the transmitter ensures reliable operation in harsh and wet environments. The device boasts high vibration resistance (16g RMS, 10…2000 Hz), maintaining accuracy and reliability in applications with significant vibration. Its high shock resistance (50g/8ms, 100g/6ms) ensures durability and continued performance in high-impact environments.

Additional features include an auto-zero function, which allows for easy calibration and improved accuracy over time, and an auto-start mode that enables operation without a master, increasing flexibility in system design. These features make the 8271 CMP Pressure Transmitter a versatile and reliable solution for a multitude of pressure sensing needs.
