This prompted the company to collaborate with CADDi Inc., a company focused on transforming the manufacturing industry’s supply chain, to implement CADDi Drawer, a cloud-based service aimed at organizing and utilizing drawing data efficiently.

The Problem:

Suzuki’s design team consistently faced challenges locating past drawings and identifying relevant part information for new models. This hurdle created inefficiencies in their workflow, resulting in time-consuming searches and hindering productivity. Recreating similar parts due to the lack of an organized system further impacted resource allocation and delayed the development of new car models.

The Solution:

To address these challenges, Suzuki chose to introduce CADDi Drawer, a cloud service enabling the registration of a vast number of historical drawings. This implementation provides the design team with a search function that rapidly retrieves information through keywords, part numbers, or images. A pivotal feature is the “similar drawing search,” employing an algorithm that analyzes three-dimensional shapes in drawings to identify and retrieve relevant and similar parts. This functionality significantly reduces redundant design creation and optimizes resource allocation for the development process.
