Configura’s Material Handling Library has moved out of its Beta stage and will be officially released in the CET 15.5 Major update.
Linköping, Sweden—Configura, a provider of innovative design solutions for the material handling industry, is excited to announce the release of the Material Handling Library in CET 15.5 Major, an update that significantly improves its design software and user interface, making it easier and faster to navigate.
Configura’s Material Handling Library has moved out of its Beta stage and will be officially released in the CET 15.5 Major update. This new library provides a seamless way for users to access and integrate a wider range of manufacturer content, further enhancing their design process. The Material Handling Library serves as a central hub for industry-specific solutions, including standalone products like robotics and forklifts, and offers manufacturers an easy pathway to contribute their catalogues to the Configura ecosystem. Available to all users in the Configura Marketplace, the Material Handling Library allows users to enrich their designs with an increased variety of components, making users’ work more detailed and comprehensive.
In addition to the Material Handling Library in the CET 15.5 Major update, the new user interface (UI) will be enabled by default, though users still have the option to toggle back to the classic interface during the transition period. This update delivers several enhancements to the UI, including a streamlined component tab bar allowing users to collapse or expand the entire component tab in one go. Additional updates to the right-click options in the toolbar allow for quicker access to essential tools, like Keyboard Shortcuts and the Work Mode Editor. Configura’s commitment to user feedback is evident, as the “Share Feedback” option has been prominently relocated to the title bar, with expanded options for submitting issues or feature requests.
“These updates are a testament to our commitment to putting users at the heart of CET’s evolution in the material handling industry,” said Erin Corrill, Global Head of User Community at Configura. “With each release, we’re focused on creating a smoother, faster design experience that empowers designers to do their best work. By incorporating user feedback into everything from interface updates to functional improvements, we’re making sure CET remains a powerful, innovative tool that keeps pace with the needs of today’s design community.”
With this release, Configura reintroduces the “Next to drawing” location option for automatic backups, making it easier for team members to access backup files. For users working with shared project folders, this feature allows for easier location of backups and better disk space management while maintaining the custom location option for added flexibility.
The Material Explorer has been optimized to be more responsive and able to load materials faster. Materials are now sorted under three tabs–CET Materials, Manufacturer Materials, and My Materials–for quick and easy access to different types of materials on the fly.
Configura is committed to continuous improvement, regularly implementing small updates that collectively enhance the user experience across its products. Recent updates include an increased attachment limit in the feedback dialog, optimized translations, and improved navigation features such as arrow key support for quick chain dimensions. The Catalogue Downloader has been refined for faster updates and now includes a progress indicator, while tool group selection has been simplified for greater efficiency. Additional enhancements, like a new option for smaller PDF exports and streamlined settings, reflect Configura’s dedication to listening to user feedback and making ongoing refinements for better user satisfaction.
