May 23, 2023 Cubic Launches Synchro Studio Update

The upgraded platform grants users new tools for improved traffic signal timing and intersection modeling.

Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS), a division of Cubic Corporation, announced today the release of Synchro Studio v12, the 12th version of its flagship traffic signal timing platform. The upgraded version offers an enhanced Scenario Manager, supports Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) 7th Edition methodology and features a simplified, more intuitive user interface. The industry-standard application now allows industry professionals and educational institutions higher levels of convenience and productivity.

“As the transportation industry continues to evolve, Synchro Studio remains the trusted choice for agencies and consultants worldwide with a 30-year legacy of proven results,” says Geoff Scalf, director of product management, Cubic Transportation Systems. “With our version 12 release, we are excited to continue enhancing our customers’ workflows and delivering the latest and highest standard of software solutions.”

Synchro Studio v12 provides a comprehensive design package, combining deterministic modeling tools (Synchro) with microscopic simulation (SimTraffic). This gives customers the agility to analyze traffic operations in days versus weeks, and the capability to model complex traffic networks and support multiple scenarios in a single file, better aligning with their community’s mobility needs.

Multiple analysis methods are now available, including:

  • HCM 7th Edition, HCM 6th Edition, HCM 2010, HCM 2000;
  • percentile delay (proprietary method);
  • intersection capacity utilization; and
  • SimTraffic.

Platform updates also support integration among products, including SimTraffic, ATMS Central Management System, Warrants and 3D Viewer.
