Tuttlingen (Germany) – LEIBINGER’s reliable printers and innovative ink solutions have become integral to the operations of leading cable manufacturers, such as Prysmian and EP Connectors GmbH. Both companies, known for their high standards in cable production, have found LEIBINGER to be an invaluable partner in meeting their demanding production requirements.

At Prysmian’s plant in Neustadt near Coburg, Germany, the company produces special cables for industrial applications using a variety of materials, including rubber, PVC, ETFE, XLPE, and polyurethane. The challenge of marking and coding these diverse materials was effectively addressed with LEIBINGER’s expertise. In collaboration, they developed a special white ink that adheres securely to all the substrates used. The JET3up PI printer, specifically designed for high-contrast printing on dark surfaces, has proven to be highly reliable and low-maintenance, greatly benefiting Prysmian’s production process. Andreas Bachmann, Senior Manager Process Engineering at Prysmian, expressed his satisfaction with the solution, highlighting the trust they place in LEIBINGER’s products.

Similarly, EP Connectors GmbH has integrated LEIBINGER’s IQJET printers into their new plant’s production line, which manufactures cables for the automotive industry. The demanding nature of this sector requires reliable printing solutions that can withstand high speeds and produce durable, abrasion-resistant markings. EP Connectors’ system, capable of running at speeds of up to 1,000 metres per minute, benefits significantly from the quick setup and efficiency provided by the IQJET printers. Klaus Ciminato, Head of Cable Production at EP Connectors, emphasized the critical role of LEIBINGER’s printers in achieving their production goals, particularly noting the printers’ unique automatic sealing system that prevents clogging during downtimes.

Both Prysmian and EP Connectors have successfully leveraged LEIBINGER’s advanced technology and comprehensive ink portfolio to enhance their cable production processes. For more information on LEIBINGER’s inks and printers, visit their website at www.leibinger-group.com.

“As the reliability is so important to us – we opted for LEIBINGER printers. The printer’s direct connection to the specific formulation allows the required print text to be loaded immediately, which significantly reduces set-up times. The printer‘s automatic nozzle sealing system also ensures that the printer never clogs – even after printing pauses.“
