KWA Construction honored across multiple categories at Dallas Builders Association’s 2022 McSAM Awards.
KWA Construction, a leading general contractor specializing in multifamily developments throughout Texas, has been honored in multiple categories at the Dallas Builders Association’s (DBA) annual McSAM Awards. Completed in November 2021, luxury development, The Truman at Arlington Commons, was named the ‘Multifamily Community of the Year’ winner, an ‘Architectural Design – Multifamily Community’ finalist and a winner in the ‘Best Sales Office or Welcome Center’ category. Additionally, accomplished KWA Director of Operations Corey Pruitt was recognized as a ‘Builder Project Manager of the Year’ finalist.
“The McSAM Awards highlight some of the region’s most prominent projects and people in the industry and to have our team’s work recognized in various capacities is indicative of the excellence we strive for at KWA,” said Brian Webster, President of KWA Construction. “The Truman is one of our crowning achievements from the year and, as Corey led his project team to success in its completion, it’s only fitting that he be celebrated in conjunction with the careful detail and quality craftsmanship we built into the community.”
Developed by The Nehemiah Company, a finalist of the McSAM Award’s ‘Developer of the Year,’ The Truman is the largest HUD Section 221(d)(4) property built by KWA Construction to date. The four-story, 358-unit luxury urban community spans about 290,000 net rentable square feet and offers residents a host of best-in-class community amenities. Some of its most notable features include a 3,500-square-foot specialty coffee shop, Nehemiah Coffee Company, which is scheduled to open in May 2022, and a nearly 12,000-square-foot mural, “Wilderness,” by Arlington native, Christopher Gonzalez of C. Joseph Art. There’s also an on-site wellness room, a resort-style swimming pool, a top-of-the-line fitness center with regular professional group classes, an eGaming room, a coworking area and many other top-tier amenities promoting entertainment, relaxation and convenience. Designed by JHP Architecture with interior designs by WORKSHOP | studio, the development has achieved National Green Building Standard (NGBS) Green certification. Other contributors include landscape architecture by Austin-based TBG Partners and civil engineering firm Graham Associates, Inc.
Prior to his promotion to Director of Operations from Project Manager in late 2021, Pruitt was directly responsible for leading his teams to incredible success with some of KWA Construction’s largest and most complex projects – including Arlington Commons. While a Project Manager, Corey helped the company deliver thousands of units and managed more than $236 million worth of projects for its clients. All the while, Corey has proven his ability to cultivate exceptional relationships with owners, designers, subcontractors and vendors and has been instrumental in the firm’s acquisition of new and repeat clients.
