Panel Built Inc. provided an inventive solution to a leading storage solution provider’s tank access problem.

Challenge: Warehouse Optimizers, a leading storage solution provider, faced the challenge of finding a reliable and safe method to maintain five large storage tanks within their client’s facility. The existing approach involved workers ascending precarious rusty ladders, which posed a clear safety risk.

Solution: Panel Built delivered a highly custom catwalk system. With a clear height of 16′, the catwalk provides easy access to the tanks. The entire system was galvanized for a lasting finish. The design of this catwalk ensured access to the tanks at all sides with its highly custom, octagonal shape. In addition, the catwalk system significantly increased the end customer’s workspace, adding 248 square feet of usable area.

Features:

OSHA-Certified Railings: The handrails have 42-inch-tall tubular uprights and one ½-inch tubular cross members and adhere to OSHA standards. The handrails are also coated in safety yellow, which maximizes visibility.

Slip Resistance: Bar grate finishes were selected to provide a non-slip surface, further enhancing safety for workers navigating the catwalk.

Corrosion/Rust Protection: The previous walkway and ladder system had rusted due to the corrosive product of the tanks. Panel Built had the new walkways galvanized to ensure longevity despite those conditions.

Conclusion: The octagonal catwalk for Warehouse Optimizers is a testament to Panel Built’s unwavering commitment to delivering custom solutions. We understand that every client has unique needs, and we are dedicated to meeting and exceeding those needs. This project showcases our ability to design and construct specialized workspaces that prioritize quality, safety, and efficiency, setting us apart in the industry.
