Challenge: The client needed a quick solution to enclose a large crane and add office space, while maintaining full plant floor visibility.

Solution: Panel Built Inc. delivered a comprehensive solution by installing a 37′ x 27′ enclosure with a mezzanine, effectively augmenting the available space by 1,365 square feet. This expansion not only facilitated the accommodation of the crane but also integrated office facilities into the structure. The enclosure was outfitted with 45 surrounding windows to ensure unimpeded visibility, offering a panoramic 360-degree view of operational activities.

Key Elements:

Class A Interior Walls: The walls were crafted with 3″ thick composite sandwich panels featuring 1/8″ Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic on the exterior and interior surfaces, finished in pristine white. An aluminum extruded binder post system, positioned every 4′, housed all electrical components, maintaining functionality and aesthetic coherence.

Ceiling: A suspended ceiling system spanning 945 square feet was implemented and designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing structure. This Class “A” suspension system, coupled with acoustic material, enhanced the ambiance, and provided a platform for incorporating essential utilities such as lighting, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

Doors and Windows: The entry points were outfitted with 20-gauge insulated steel doors adorned with half-glass panels to infuse natural light into the interior. The interior picture windows are glazed with a 1/4″ clear tempered glass top, ensuring complete visibility without compromising safety.

Electrical Package: A modular electrical package, thoughtfully wired and integrated, featured an array of components, including wall switches, duplex receptacles, and LED fixtures. Panel Built Inc. ensured seamless pre-wiring of receptacles, lights, switches, and HVAC units, underscoring their commitment to operational efficiency and safety.

Mezzanine: The mezzanine, engineered to withstand 125 pounds per square foot, served as a multifunctional space, accommodating storage needs and housing a dedicated in-plant office. This elevated platform comprises steel decking sub-flooring and resilient rescinded decking for lasting durability.

Stair Systems & Handrails: Panel Built Inc. prioritized safety by implementing robust stair systems and handrails powder-coated in standard colors for enhanced visibility and longevity. The incorporation of kick plates and meticulous attention to detail underscored their unwavering commitment to safety and functionality, ensuring the well-being of the facility’s users.

Conclusion:

The tailored 35′ x 27′ Equipment Enclosure exemplifies Panel Built’s commitment to delivering custom solutions prioritizing quality, safety, and efficiency. This project showcases our ability to design and construct specialized workspaces that meet unique needs while exceeding industry standards.
