Funding will support the expansion of its EdgeOps platform beyond the 22 countries and 13 verticals for thousands of enterprise customers.
TORONTO, ONTARIO (Collision Conference Stand #G1127) – Springdel, makers of the world’s first enterprise-grade EdgeOps platform purpose-built for the interactive Edge of Things (EoT), today announced it closed a $2 million Pre-Series A. The funding was secured in Q1 2022 to accelerate growth into North America, EMEA and APAC, and expand its headcount and research and development operations in Toronto. Led by Beyond Ventures, Radiant Ventures and Cell Rising, they join existing investors in supporting the disruption of legacy MDM and UEM markets through an EdgeOps platform for Edge of Things (EoT).
Edge of Things (EoT) disrupts the centralized, cloud-dependent Internet of Things (IoT) business model through a set of decentralized technologies that push operational data, intelligent monitoring and applications to the edge device itself. Doing so delivers enhanced security, increased reliability, real-time responsiveness and the seamless experience customers demand from a modern solution.
As the only edge-first development operations platform (EdgeOps) for enterprise, Springdel has expanded into 22 countries across 13 verticals, including retail, transportation and logistics, hospitality and others. Funding will extend platform support for iOS and Linux, increase in-platform functionality, and add to Springdel’s development and sales teams to support the company’s growth in new client acquisitions.
Springdel’s EdgeOps platform, Springmatic, is purpose-built for the interactive EoT. It provides customers with real-time visibility and control across their entire fleet of interactive devices. It delivers immediate cost savings, productivity gains and actionable intelligence, without the cost and complexity associated with legacy MDM and UEM solutions. Deployments are lightning fast and onboarding takes hours, not weeks.
“Springdel is disrupting an entire industry with a product that delivers substantial value to the biggest enterprises, so it’s no wonder demand is exploding,” said Springdel Co-founder and CEO Calvin Chung. “We’re constantly seeking strategic capital partners who share our vision and are committed to helping us disrupt a market that is characterized by legacy providers that are crumbling under the weight of their own obsolescence and indifference. We are thrilled to name Beyond Ventures, and every one of our investors, partners in growth. They understand that the future of device management is at the edge of interaction.”
“We see an inflection point in the MDM and UEM markets. The market is shifting from centralized cloud dependencies towards the decentralized edge,” said Lap Man, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Beyond Ventures. “Springdel’s management team has a great vision, a proven track-record and a great business model, and their exponential growth to this point shows us that they can execute on that vision. Edge compute models are the future of securely maximizing ROI of device fleets at the scale of enterprise, and Calvin and his team are at the forefront of innovation. This aligns perfectly with our mission to support visionary founders with disruptive innovation, so we are excited to join them on this journey.”
Springdel is set to open a Series A funding round later this year. To schedule a meeting at Collision, between June 21-23, 2022, please email Kim Peterson at kim.peterson@kp-communications.com. For more information, please visit www.springdel.com.
