Seven industries being disrupted by app-based services.

Many industries are being disrupted by app-based services. The ability to obtain, process and input information from anywhere is changing many industries. This article will discuss seven industries that are being disrupted by app-based services.

The first industry is hotels. Airbnb is an online marketplace that allows consumers to book lodging. Airbnb has disrupted the hotel industry because individuals using the application can quickly book homestays in almost any major city without having to formally plan weeks or months ahead to stay at a hotel.

Shopping for cars is another industry that has been disrupted by app-based services. More people are using the CoPilot app and similar services to shop for cars. CoPilot works by helping with every step in the car buying process. You do not have to spend countless hours of research to purchase a car. CoPilot provides help through every step of the process of buying a car. CoPilot makes sure that you do not make a mistake on either price or features when buying a car.

Another industry that has been disrupted by app-based services is the taxicab industry. Uber is a ride-hailing company that lets individuals obtain a ride in many major cities across the globe. Uber allowed individuals that owned a car to operate as a taxicab. Before services like Uber, taxicabs had a lot more pricing power in their markets. Uber decreased the price of transportation.

Storage is the fourth industry in this article that has been disrupted by app-based services. Instead of having to take stuff to a self-storage facility, there are apps such as MakeSpace that allow you to purchase several bins for storage. You can fill those storage bins with your stuff and allow workers from MakeSpace to pick those bins up to store. These apps have changed the dynamics of real estate for storage across the US. Neighbor is another app that allows individuals to rent out storage space to others in their homes.

Healthcare is the fifth industry in this article that is being disrupted by app-based services. MediSprout is an app that allows individuals to easily schedule appointments for doctors. Patients can view physicians’ calendars through the app to see exactly when their doctors are available for appointments. MediSprout also helps physicians by modifying their calendars when patients make or change appointments.

The dating and nightlife industry is another industry that has been disrupted by app-based services. Tinder changed the ways couples meet each other. Before Tinder, bars and nightclubs were more popular ways to meet potential dates. Tinder made meeting new individuals easier by allowing individuals to connect with others without having to spend a lot of time at bars and nightclubs.

Photography is the seventh industry to be disrupted by app-based services in this article. Instagram changed the way friends share pictures. Before Instagram, most photography was shared by email or photo paper. Instagram made sharing photos much more common because Instagram made sharing photos easier and more enjoyable. Instagram made the process of taking a picture and sharing through the app much quicker as well. Instagram offered filters and other editing features to speed up the process of creating a high-quality picture that you would want to share.

Overall, countless industries are being disrupted by app-based services. As phones become even better and faster over time, additional industries will be disrupted and will modify how most individuals work and live.
