Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas honors recipient of the 20th Annual Cat® Lift Trucks Scholarship.
HOUSTON – Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas, a leading North American provider and manufacturer of material handling and innovative automation and fleet solutions, announced today the recipient of their 19th Annual 2023 Cat® Lift Trucks Scholarship Program. This year’s $5,000 scholarship winner is Amani Ansari, a high school senior at Cypress Creek High School in Houston, Texas.
Amani is a senior at Cypress Creek High School and plans to attend The University of Texas at Austin and major in Computer Science and Business. As one of the only females in her computer science classes, Amani aims to be an innovator, leader and a change agent using technology. At her high school, she is a member and holds leadership positions in various organizations including President for the National Honor Society, Editor for Key Club, Vice President and Senior Advisor for Future Business Leaders of America, Team Captain for Math UIL and more. She has also been awarded National Merit Commended Scholar, AP Scholar with Distinction and Distinguished Honor Roll and more.
Amani was surprised at her high school today and presented with a large check by Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas. The company also offered her free tickets to enjoy a night at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™. Once Amani starts school in the fall, she plans to establish an interest group to encourage girls in grade school to pursue STEM careers.
“We received several inspiring applications, but Amani’s short-term and long-term goals of helping and inspiring girls to not be afraid to join a career in STEM stood out,” said John Sneddon, executive vice president of Sales and Marketing at Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas. “We are proud to make the investment each year in higher education and look forward to supporting Houston-area students in the future.”
Giving back to the local Houston community through education is important to Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas. The scholarship program honors an outstanding Houston-area high-school senior interested in pursuing a four-year degree related to the material handling industry. Over the years, the Cat Lift Trucks Scholarship Program has awarded $140,000 in educational assistance to 28 Houston area students.
