March 12, 2024 Rielec Extends Partnership With SML Collaboration

Rielec has announced that it has extended its partnership with SML.

Valencia, Spain – Rielec, an RFID-based technology solutions provider for distribution centres and warehouses, has announced that it has extended its partnership with SML. The partnership will deliver warehouse automation and high quality inventory management within factories and distribution centres, combining SML’s ClarityⓇ enterprise RFID platform with Rielec’s Clustag spectrum of RFID devices to deliver tangible returns on investment (ROIs) to the market.

Rielec and SML have been partners since 2022, when SML announced it had invested in Rielec in order to enhance its supply chain offerings for its retail customers. The extended partnership involves the companies successfully deploying Clustag’s patented MOT – alongside other Clustag read stations – and SML’s ClarityⓇ software solution within distribution centres across international markets.

Clustag’s MOT Station is designed to provide the best reliability and flow data on the market. It can be fully integrated into processes and aggregates three key pieces of data: RFID identification, case volume and case weight during operation to improve the inventory management process. The highest end solution option scans 400 tags per case at speeds of up to 1,000 cases per hour.

SML’s ClarityⓇ provides users with a cloud-based, item-level RFID software platform and suite of applications. This includes case-level and garment on hanger (GOH) order packing and audits. The technology delivers unmatched operational efficiency and accuracy with enterprise system integration and reporting for retailers and brands supply chains. The total solution delivers up to 100% inventory accuracy for users while maximising throughput to improve operational efficiency.

Combined, the technologies empower users to enhance supply chain operations for fast ROI:

  • Improve accuracy and efficiency across supply chains through applications that deliver reliable item-level data to users’ enterprise systems
  • Drive improved supplier and downstream compliance with 100% accurate auditing of inbound and outbound shipments
  • Automate in-line auditing with a 100% accurate automated on-conveyor material handling system
  • Streamline returns management with 100% accurate grading and transaction recording

Dean Frew, President of RFID Solutions at SML Group, said: “RFID’s value within supply chain operations is becoming clearer by the day. Whether it is verifying the case is packed correctly before it leaves a factory or Distribution Centre, or verifying that contents from upstream suppliers is accurate, businesses must take better control of inventory. Poor inventory management realities have significant impact on a brand’s bottom line. Item-level RFID empowers companies to gain accurate visibility of their stock while minimising the need to open cases and manually counting stock. Our partnership with Clustag delivers that, enabling users to optimise inventory, reduce waste and make more informed stocking decisions, faster.”

Manolo Reguart, Director of Strategy and Business Development, Rielec, said: “SML’s ClarityⓇ solution delivers valuable, real-time insights to the warehouse that, in tandem with our MOT Station and other read stations, creates reliable, accurate data for operators. Supply chain processes become significantly streamlined without the risk of human error, and automated processes reduce time spent manually counting inventory, freeing the time of warehouse staff and allowing them to focus on other tasks that drive further value for their business.”

SML will join Clustag at MODEX 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 11-14, at booth B10005. Demonstrations of SML’s ClarityⓇ software will be available on the stand. Dean Frew will also join Manolo Reguart at the event for a panel discussion, exploring how RFID enables material handling systems to improve inventory accuracy and supply chain compliance in distribution centres. The panel takes place at 3pm, March 13, in Theater B.
