A steel facility needed a restroom that could be easily integrated into their existing structure. Panel Built designed a custom solution.
Challenge: Panel Built, a leading modular building manufacturer, recently tackled a challenge presented by Cleveland-Cliffs LLC, a steel distributor in Ohio. The client required the installation of a fully functional interior bathroom within the confines of their galvanizing facility in Columbus.
Solution: Panel Built engineered a customized solution: a compact yet comprehensive 15′ 3″ X 8′ 1″ interior restroom. This modular facility was meticulously designed to accommodate two toilets, a urinal, and twin sinks, providing essential amenities for the facility’s personnel.
Insulated Interior: The walls were constructed using 3″ thick composite sandwich panels with a polystyrene core to ensure optimal thermal comfort. A 20-gauge insulated steel door secured the temperature in the space.
Lighting: The restroom boasts state-of-the-art lighting fixtures, including 110-volt LED troffers with high-efficiency drivers. These fixtures are designed to fit seamlessly into a 2×4 drop ceiling grid and offer extended longevity, with 70% LED lumen maintenance and a service life of 50,000 hours.
HVAC System: A 180 cfm wall exhaust fan was incorporated into the design to ensure adequate ventilation, maintaining a comfortable environment for users.
Prefabricated Plumbing: To streamline the installation process, the sinks, urinals, and water closets were pre-fitted with basic plumbing infrastructure, facilitating easy connection to the on-site plumbing network.
Water Heater: The restroom is equipped with a Bosch PowerStream instant water heater, boasting a power rating of 9.5kw @ 240 volts. With the capability to heat water to an 84-degree temperature rise at a rate of .75 gallons per minute, this unit ensures a reliable hot water supply.
Panel Built Inc.’s successful execution of the interior preassembled restroom project underscores its ability to deliver innovative solutions tailored to meet unique challenges.
By delivering a custom-designed bathroom that optimizes utility and efficiency, Panel Built Inc. reaffirms its commitment to excellence and innovation in the modular construction industry.
