Lueder Construction adopted rental management software from EZO- improved asset management on multi-million dollar construction projects.

Lueder Construction, is a Nebraska-based construction contracting company founded in 1884. The company just celebrated its 140th year in business this year. Lueder experienced some challenges as the company had been relying on spreadsheets and paper calculations to manage all projects for many years.

The company works on projects ranging from $5 million to an extravagant $50 million. And as it scaled, the company faced significant challenges in managing equipment and assets across multiple project sites. 

This was difficult for the warehouse manager, John Thompson, who had to keep track of all equipment used, from the smallest tool to the heaviest machinery. He would manually record key information and then give it to bookkeeping for tracking. 

Soon, it was evident that there was a need for digital tracking and automated reporting, and the company started to consider options for rental management software. The first attempt at deploying a software solution was challenging—the software didn’t provide detailed reporting and had a complicated interface—making logging daily activities a nuisance.

The solution helped Thompson categorize all the equipment across the organization, no matter how small or large, to enhance transparency and improve discoverability. Printed reports helped the company manage operations such as taxes more effectively.

Lueder’s customers, superintendents of different projects, had varying requirements per order. It was easier to keep account of each order, and its requirements and set customized schedules with EZRentOut. 

The company also utilized the platform’s comprehensive reporting features to track rental income, costs, and equipment availability. This enabled better, data-driven decision-making and allowed for a more organized rental schedule. Any gaps were readily filled and the business was able to generate more revenue. 

The software’s customer support team played a key role in helping Lueder fully implement and adapt the solution, ensuring a smooth transition from their previous system. They also played a proactive role in providing support and ensuring smooth operations.
