(DOWAGIAC, Mich.) — Bodwé Professional Services Group has hired Brett Hysinger as the vice president of Federal Support Services. Hysinger will oversee non-architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) federal contracts for Bodwé and report directly to Jeremy Berg, AIA, NCIDQ, LEED AP, chief operations officer. Bodwé Group is part of Mno-Bmadsen, the non-gaming investment enterprise and wholly owned instrumentality of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi.

Known for their expertise and experience in architecture and engineering, the Federal Support Services branch is a significant and expanding focus for the Bodwé Group, with a field staff of dozens of experts serving diverse roles within federal agency teams. Identifying the right leader has been a top priority for executive leadership, as this branch has the most potential for growth over the next five years.

“The combination of business acumen, federal contracting experience and people leadership, coupled with his understanding of our unique markets, makes Brett the ideal candidate to lead our Federal Support Services Branch,” said Berg. “We are excited about the expertise, understanding and fresh perspective he will bring to our team and look forward to a successful journey together.”

Hysinger holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago and a Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University and has nearly 20 years of experience in information technology, operations, finance, and program management in federal, Indigenous and private sectors. In his most recent role, Hysinger was responsible for identifying 20% in cost savings, booked $100M in new business and directed 33% annual revenue growth.

“I am honored to join Bodwé Professional Services Group as the vice president of Federal Support Services,” said Hysinger. “With the evolving focus on federal contracting within Bodwé, I am excited to lead this significant expansion and work closely with our talented team. Together, we will harness our collective expertise to drive growth in federal contracts and serve the diverse needs of the federal agencies with whom we partner. I look forward to contributing to the growth and success of Bodwé.”

In 2023 Bodwé reorganized from a focus on individual company brands to branches — Buildings Support Services, Infrastructure Support Services and Federal Support Services. This restructure aligns more closely with client delivery of services and positions Bodwé for future growth and scale for their clients, the Pokagon Band and employees. As a result of the reorganization, Bodwé has experienced impressive growth. Highlights include:

  • Headcount grew by 40% in 2023
  • WBK Engineering earned its Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) status
  • Blue Star Integrative Studio earned its HUBZone certification
  • Two new businesses were added to the family of companies — Bodwé Federal Services and Bodwé Technology Solutions.

“With such a stellar year in the rear-view mirror and so many opportunities in the pipeline for 2024, bringing Brett on board and focusing on our federal contracting strategy is the next, right step in our evolution and expansion,” said Berg. “To say that I am thrilled about what is to come is an understatement.”
