Geophysical Survey Systems, Inc (GSSI), the world’s leading manufacturer of ground penetrating radar (GPR) equipment, will be showcasing its GPR equipment at Con Expo, March 14-18, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. In booth #N12921 GSSI will display its UtilityScan® system, StructureScan Mini XT, and PaveScan RDM 2.0 for the utility, concrete, and transportation industries.
The UtilityScan® system makes locating and marking the depth of underground utilities in real-time in the field easier. With real-time target mapping and advanced scanning and identification capabilities, the rugged and flexible UtilityScan helps utility locating professionals accelerate their workflow from target detection to reporting. UtilityScan is ideal for marking the location and depth of subsurface utilities, including gas, sewer, and communication lines. Real-time target mapping features include a new Map Mode that allows users to trace their steps and gain a bird’s-eye view of their survey.
Visitors to the booth will also see the StructureScan Mini XT all-in-one concrete inspection GPR system. This system is ideal for locating rebar, conduits, post-tension cables, and voids. It can help identify structural elements, including pan decking and concrete cover, and can also provide real time determination of concrete slab thickness. Along with the Mini XT, the Palm XT Antenna will be at the show. This is a miniaturized GPR antenna that is designed to greatly enhance the capabilities of the StructureScan Mini XT. The handheld Palm XT antenna turns a basic Mini XT into an advanced system by giving users unparalleled access in tightly spaced areas and enabling overhead scanning.
For the transportation market, GSSI will have the PaveScan RDM 2.0. By uncovering inconsistencies that occur during the paving process, including poor uniformity and significant variations in density, PaveScan RDM 2.0 helps to avoid premature failures like road raveling, cracking, and deterioration along joints. The system is easy to operate with seamless GPS integration, real-time onscreen data output, and export options, this system is ideal for government transportation agencies and paving contractors alike. The pavement density measurement technology used in PaveScan RDM 2.0 is an accepted American Association of State and Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO) specification, PP 98-19.
