The research for this award is based on a worldwide survey of managed service providers, conducted from November 2022 through April 2023.

Rankings are based on annual recurring revenues in specific vertical markets for fiscal year 2022. This is the eighth annual research report from ChannelE2E. Research results revealed that these vertical market MSPs continue to grow and perform well despite inflation and threats of recession. These markets continue to expand faster than IT spending during that same period.

ChannelE2E, a CyberRisk Alliance resource, guides IT service providers from entrepreneur to exit. The organization aims to mitigate MSP risk while helping organizations maximize profits.

Here are some data points from the study:

• In total, the top vertical market MSPs generated revenues of $2.87 billion in 2022 compared to $2.25 billion in 2021, representing a 27.5% increase year over year.
• Meanwhile, Gartner reported IT spending on IT services to grow by just 3% in 2022 over 2021 and overall IT spending to decline by 0.2% for the same period.
• While this report does not look at margins and EBITDA, vertical market MSPs are able to specialize, standardizing their tech stacks for their specific verticals and training their staffs to best serve those verticals, leading to more efficient operations.
