April 12, 2024 Fellowes Highlights ARRAY™ for the Hospitality Industry

Innovative technology continually monitors air quality, occupancy, and noise levels to efficiently and quietly ensure clean, healthy air.

Fellowes, a global leader and trusted partner that provides product solutions to fulfill a broad range of WorkLife needs, highlights its breakthrough Array™ air purification solution for hospitality facilities. Array enhances brand image and guest experiences by efficiently and quietly removing odors and contaminants. Fellowes’ Array combines innovative advanced technology with appealing product design, ensuring clean, healthy air while seamlessly blending into any environment including lobbies, fitness centers, meeting spaces, and bathrooms.

Clean air is one of guests’ top considerations when choosing a hotel and indoor air quality (IAQ) affects their entire stay. Fellowes recently conducted a survey with 787 U.S. and Canadian respondents who stayed in a hotel during the last year and found that guests rated indoor air quality as the second most important consideration when booking a hotel, ranking above other perks like free breakfast and free parking. Upon arrival in the lobby, clean air is critical to guests’ initial impressions and lasting memories of their stay as odors may affect guest perceptions of cleanliness and safety. Throughout their stay, guests’ use of fitness centers and bathrooms, which are breeding grounds for bacteria, germs, and odors that can linger in the air and are unhealthy for customers to inhale, will further color their perception of cleanliness. Also, when people gather for events and meetings in shared conference spaces, virus transmission is always a top concern, as is the need to remove unwanted odors left behind from lunches or dinners in the space. Array is a breakthrough solution that combines proprietary sense and react technology, the benefits of H13 True HEPA filtration and a full suite of indoor air quality sensors with real-time data to monitor and improve building-wide air, especially spaces with higher virus transmission potential.

Array features Fellowes’ proprietary and patented EnviroSmart+ Technology that continuously monitors air quality, room occupancy, and noise levels. The technology then automatically adjusts air purification to provide maximum protection effectively, efficiently, and quietly on demand. This conserves energy and reduces operating costs while keeping guest disturbance to a minimum. Array’s Viewpoint, the cloud-based dashboard, provides data, notifications, and trends to building managers, easing maintenance needs, and enabling optimal indoor air quality management. With access to the dashboard, facilities managers gain valuable data for informed decision-making in managing and maintaining a fleet of remediation units throughout a property.

In the same survey of 787 hotel goers, Fellowes found that only 30% of guests recall seeing any information regarding their hotel’s IAQ commitment despite it being a top concern for travelers. This gap in visibility compared to guests’ priorities reveals a need for hotels to promote their investments in IAQ to guests, demonstrating a commitment to keeping air clean and guests safe and healthy. The Viewpoint community dashboard also allows guests and staff to see precise air quality information and filtration status, reassuring them of cleanliness in real time.

The Array air purification system is designed to fit seamlessly into any space and can provide localized air quality management throughout your building. With no connection to duct work needed, Array is ideal for retrofit implementation. Array seamlessly integrates into any décor, offering a diverse range of solutions for flexible placement. The different installation styles enable positioning closer to contaminant sources and the effortless scalability to accommodate changing needs in various spaces.

Array is the first system of its kind, where networked air purifiers work alongside commercial HVAC systems to improve indoor air quality faster and more efficiently than ever before. While most HVAC systems aim to meet the MERV 13 standard of filtration, Array’s H13 True HEPA filters are twice as effective without compromising efficiency. Array is also powerful enough to deliver an additional 3 to 5 eACH, depending on room size. This is critical considering the latest updates to ASHRAE code adherence that require a minimum of 5 equivalent air changes per hour in indoor spaces. The innovative design pulls contaminants out of the breathing zone while simultaneously pushing clean air into the room to improve ventilation effectiveness, delivering an increase in equivalent room air changes – reducing the stress on HVAC systems and energy costs.
