May 31, 2024 Trane Technologies Awarded for Education Program

Trane Technologies receives award in the Education and Training section of the 2024 Telly Awards.

Charlotte, NC – Global edtech leader Discovery Education today announced that Sustainable Futures, a national educational program produced with global climate innovator, Trane Technologies, has been named a winner in the 2024 Telly Awards. The Telly Awards honors excellence in video and television across all screens and is judged by leaders from video platforms, television, streaming networks, and production companies.

Sustainable Futures received a Bronze honor in the Education and Training section of the Branded Content category. Launched in 2022, Sustainable Futures offers free STEM education experiences for U.S. students in grades 5 to 10. The comprehensive, multimedia platform provides educators with interactive tools, resources, and Trane Technologies volunteers to engage and inspire students to learn, think, and solve the world’s sustainability challenges, like climate change and food waste, through sustainable innovation.

“The goal of Sustainable Futures is to expose students to STEM concepts and experts at work in the real world, so they’ll develop the confidence to study STEM and sustainability and be change-makers we need for the future,” said Deidra Parrish Williams, Trane Technologies’ leader of Global Corporate Social Responsibility. “Our company’s purpose is to boldly challenge what’s possible for a sustainable world. This initiative does just that by inspiring students to explore themes and topics, problem solve, and develop creative solutions. It is accessible to all, and we are proud to be honored with this award.”

The program is part of Trane Technologies’ Sustainable Futures corporate citizenship strategy, which uplifts underrepresented students and communities through access to STEM education, enhanced learning environments, and pathways to green careers. The company has committed $100 million and 500,000 employee volunteer hours by 2030 to deploy Sustainable Futures in communities where it operates and serves.

“We are thrilled for our partner Trane Technologies and their successful leadership in the Sustainable Futures program,” said Amy Nakamoto, Executive Vice President of Discovery Education. “This STEM program exemplifies the power of partnerships for education to nurture student curiosity and drive lifelong change.”
